Subject: I-485 + portability + citizenship question Posted on: Mon, 19 Jul 2004 20:21:38 -0700

Hi

I have a pending I-485 for some time (more than 6 months). One month =
after filing it the sponsoring company went out of business and I =
started working for another company (same position, same salary). =
According to numerous people I talked to, my application will be =
approved based on the portability rule AC21, 106 (c). There is even a =
good chance USCIS will approve it without issuing an RFE and asking if I =
still work for the same company.

So my question is, in case I get my green card with no further =
complications, will I have any problems applying for citizenship? Will =
my switching of employers so soon after filing I-485 be considered a =
problem?

Thanks
Ivo
