Subject: Immigration for the Mother in Law of a US serviceman Posted on: Sun, 25 Jul 2004 16:22:59 +0000

Looking for some advice, well really from someone who has heard of this
before.

I am a greencard holder and live in Fl with my wife.
My sister
is married to a USAF guy and they live in SC. She also has a GC.
My
mother would like to move to the States. She is in her 60s
suffers from
poor health and would not want to work here.
I looked into sponsering
her but it's out of the question. Too long and complicated.
My sister
tells me that her husband could sponser her and she would be covered
under the USAF for health needs.

I'm wary, it sounds too easy and what
would happen when he left?

So, are there any expats out there who are
married to US service personel and have moved their parents over under
the terms I mentioned?
If so how easy was it and are there and
conditions ect.

TIA
