A couple of tips:
I know it says that your husband was learning to
drive so I assuming he doesn't have he's drivers license. But if he did
have he's driver's license from England he can drive in the U.S. using
that license. My husband is from Australia and he is in the exact same
position but we just use his foreign driver's license. If not for that
he won't be able to drive in the US either b/c of the whole SS thing.
If your husband wants to work he should apply for
EAD.http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/ead.htm
With that I
believe you can get a SS# since he would need it to work and you can
have him get a license through that method!
Also whatever you do DO NOT
go on Medicaid, Medicare, Welfare or anything like that. It look really
bad on your application b/c it shows you will be a burden to the system.
It's ok not to have any money, as long as you have co-sponsors who say
they will support you it is not a problem!
Also, STOP FREAKING OUT.
The whole point of you sending in these forms is to have a Green Card
interview where they basically ask you questions and try to verify if
you are really married. SINCE YOU A HAVE (or are going to have) A CHILD,
they will more than believe you have a valid marriage. If you look at
other people's experience with their interview if they had a kid it was
like 5 mins. So just CHILL! It's going to be fine!
PLEASE, PLEASE,
PLEASE get a lawyer. Esp. for Visa Waiver (which is my husband's
situation too (I'm the USC)). to help you with all of the forms, I think
carrying a child is a lot of pressure and your hormones are all over the
place. I did my husband's immigration form my self but I was working a
part time job and had 6 months to research it and fill it out. Just so
you can take the stress off of you and to make sure it is done right
have a LAWYER do it for you. the money that was wasted in a rejected
application could have been money going towards a lawyer. You do not
want to screw these papers up. If one thing is slight lywrong w/ your
papers the INS will not process it correctly. So just save up the money
and have someone do it for you. Also, I highly sugguest making sure you
have a lawyer for the Green Card Interview as well since you came on a
Visa Waiver. Not that it is an issue but it's just extra protection to
make sure everythign goes smooth. HIRE a lawyer and don't freak out!!
E-mail me if you have any questions!

sorry..i just feel very stressed out..i know i risk sounding like i dont
know the difference between a cat and a dog are but i figure if i DONT
ask then i'll really be in a jam so i went for it. im not used to asking
people about this...not online, anyway,so im sure i could have done a
better job explaining it all. if i left out any of the emotions to it
and just provided a timeline,it would probably be less of a snore to
read or wouldnt be as confusing. but im a nervous wreck. i want people
to know that i am desperate and really in need of help. and that i will
do anything at all that i have to in order to help J.

parole or served your sentence. Criminal activity of a USC will not make
a difference anyways to the USCIS."

was a few days before he had to go back..it was an unplanned wedding so
what we did was we got married by a magistrate. thats all,no one served
any time for anything, people just get married "in prisons" all the time.
neither my husband or i have ever stolen so much as a stick of gum so we
dont have a record or anything of that sort. perhaps i should have made
that more clear in my first post. dont want people thinking ive been
doing time (since i havent)

for information and to order your forms? And don't you know there is no
INS but there is an USCIS."

told of ONE form..and THIS from someone who is supposed to help people
with the process, very annoying and one of my problems,i wasnt told of
half of what i need) and yes,i have seen the website but it doesnt cover
half of my concerns and if it does then i havent found it yet. and
yes,i know its not called ins anymore but its been on all the papers
weve recieved and im just very used to calling it the ins. maybe i
should get in the swing of trying not to call it that but its very much
what ive been used to before now.

have an attorney?"

ought to have. since we're near charlotte it shouldnt be too hard to
find someone.

that we do,but he came over on visa waiver, and i dont have that slip of
paper. ive been worried they would ask for it and right now its missing
from our files somehow. we have a folder we keep things in and that
paper (the visa waiver) was tucked into his passport. its lost now and
even the little things worry me. i know i am stupid of a lot of what i
should know but its not because i havent TRIED,we have. we just get ran
in circles, everyone says something different, and we keep getting sent to
office after office for god knows what reason. i just NEED HELP badly.
im more than willing to do whatever i need to help him stay but we have
been going through this for years with no one "official" ever saying the
same thing twice. it isnt easy emotionally or mentally when you are told
to do this by one person and then that by another..you just want to do
it the RIGHT way the first time..which didnt happen with us,we've been
put into some sort of immagration circus or something, its just crazy all
that we've been told so far. thats why im looking for the perfect way to
go about all this so we wont face anymore troubles in the future and i
need to get the papers we need filed AGAIN the proper way very soon.

Nebraska? Did you move?"
>
> thats the thing, your guess is as good as
mine  i know we sent it to texas because it was where we were
told to send it to (strike one for whoever told us that one...being in
sc,obviously texas isnt our local office) so we did as we were told.
dunno why we got sent to nebraska of all things either, they just did.
and lost our pictures between here and there so there was a rush to get
new ones and find a place that knew how to and had proper film, someone
who knew how to do them correctly, and so on. since theres been the
problem because of only sending in the I-130 and nothing else (strike
two against whoever told us THAT one....this is why im trying to find
the answers myself instead of even asking someone who supposedly knows
what they are talking about,i dont care where they work if they are
giving me wrong info then something is WRONG with that) and him coming
on visa waiver only,i believe our things are being sent somewhere in the
NE (i could be wrong about that) but at any rate our papers are bounced
around like you wouldnt believe and we dont know why. we havent moved
(though we plan to but we will tell the office we will use before we do)

the local district office governing where you live?"

birth certificate (not SS # as of yet because he hasnt had any shots so
he cant be issued one,but will soon) so i was just wondering if they
needed to know we had a son..silly question maybe but i dont want to
leave anything out that needs to be there. thats happened to us (through
no fault of our own, just going by what the office told us) so
yeah...worth asking i thought.

the things hed like to do (ie,he was learning to drive before he came

wont do anything that isnt "allowed"..and hes never done drugs or had
anything to taint his record in england, either.

never been on welfare, ever, and neither has anyone in my family. and this
