Can I File at VSC ?? Posted on: Thu, 12 Aug 2004 16:51:36 +0000 (UTC)

Hi folks

I need to file I-130 for my wife. Since VSC ( Vermont Service Center )
is doing it fastest, i am thinking, is it possible i can do something
to qualify to file at VSC.

Lets say, i find a job in New York state, and move there
to start work, can i file I-130 within one week of the move at VSC ?

Or Is there a certain living time period requirement before
one can file at VSC ?

I only know that students need to pay out-of-state tuition for 12
months,
when they move to a state-university in another state, before they are
considered residents for in-state fee.

I know changing service centers in middle of process is not worth it,
so what you think, how can one do it right and use VSC.

I-130 app process wants to see Tax filings, 5 year address histroy, 5
year job history and so forth. I my case, all of it will be outside
VSC jurisdiction,
except for the very latest address and maybe job.

thanks
