That does not sound too good. They need to find out what the problem is.
If I recall correctly, your case is a year beyond usual processing time,
right? Your file could have been lost, in which case the remedy is to file
a duplicate petition. Or USCIS could have requested that an old file be
transferred from another city, and nothing has happened yet. In that case,
the request must be repeated.

It is best to ask only one Congressperson to help you. Congresspersons do
not want duplication of inquiries. You should stick with your Member of the
House.

No, travel has nothing to do with it, unless you missed a fingerprint
appointment or something like that.

Two weeks is reasonable. Some caseworkers are timid, afraid to push the
Congressional Liaison staff at the government agencies. Others are
competent, and they ask repeatedly for answers if the liaison has not
responded.
