Who you are with is not an issue either.
If you have permanent residence and leave you can have an issue and have
to start again. One of the advantages of getting Citizenship.
I can not remember the exact name but there is another form that you can
use to apply for leave to be abscent, but that aslo has a time limit,
not sure but I think 2 years, check on the USCIS web site.
