> By the way my n-400 time line:
> 04/29/04 - filed the application in California
> 06/17/04 - fingerprinted
> 09/29/04 - received an appointment letter for interview
> 11/15/04 - interview was cancelled
Permanent Immigrant File or your Alien, or A-File contains your
immigration information (how your got your green card etc.) Normally
interviews are not cancelled because of a missing file though. A friend
of mine had an interview in Los Angeles District Office and she was told
that her file was missing and until it is found, she won't receive her
oath appointment. What DO did you go to?
Good news is that they have to find your file in 120 days frame or
declare it lost.
I won't worry too much that your interview got cancelled, the overall
time for your application process won't change because of that. And
missing A-file is not an indication of any problem with your situation.
Meanwhile, you can find out whether your name check has cleared. You can
email FBI at fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov. Provide your full name, previous names
used, address, phone, email, Alien number (from your greencard), your
application receipt number.
Good luck!
