There's a difference between providing a lifeboat and stopping .ing
over a country. If America wishes to stop .ing over Mexico it would
abolish NAFTA, it doesn't wish to stop .ing over mexico, ergo NAFTA
is still there.
You can't blame people for wishing to escape crushing poverty. Since
America is partially to blame for that crushing poverty (not just NAFTA,
it uses it powerful influence in the IMF etc) it shouldn't get upset
when people seek to escape it.
Plus illegal immigrants hold up a big part of this economy. for example,
who do you think picks your strawberries? I don't agree with illegal
immigrants for several reasons. They are very very poorly paid to do
extremely hard and crap work, they have no benefits, no social security,
no medical aid, blah blah blah, An amnesty to these people would ensure
that the industries they work in are regulated. They are not exploited,
and they pay taxes. Maybe you can remember a few months ago in England
the tragedy of the cockle pickers in Morecombe bay?
If you are still sitting and crying about it, go and get a job in the
meatpacking industry, go get a job in California picking strawberries.
maybe if you researched a little how these people lived you would
understand a hell of a lot more and condemn a hell of a ot less!
