I am not an expert on this subject nor do i claim to be one.
My limited understanding is that you need to file for his H-1B visa
first. That would allow him to work for atleast 6 years. Since this
fiscal year's quota is already finished, you will have to wait to file
for the appication May 2005. You can file for the application at the
latest on 1st of May 2005 and he can start working full time from
October 1st, 2005.
In the meantime you can hire him as an intern. He can also work
fulltime through school through Curricular Practical Training. He
should check with the International Student's office of the school.
