I don't think there should be any problem for 8/9 months. However, at
the Port of Entry, the I-94 of your wife may get stamped only for the
duration of your H-1B petition. Later, you can apply for your H-1 and
her H-4 extension once the date for expiry of your I-94/H-1 petition
draws nearer.
