What do illegals do?
They mainly work in restaurants, landscaping, new home construction, and
manual factory work.
For the employer, they will produce a false social security card readily
available on the street for $50 or so.
Once they reach metropolitan Phoenix they are relatively free from
deportation; there is little or no immigration enforcement, even in
cases where an illegal goes through the criminal justice system for a
petty offence.
There is almost an apartheid system in Phoenix: two groups developing
separately on the same land but with limited contact. It would be
surprising if the legislature were not ‘upset’.
