Hi,
My husband and I are working for a British company with US offices and
are being posted to the US for a min 12 month secondment. I have been
told that we are in the process of getting E1 visas and that the
applications have been filed by the immigration lawyer working on behalf
of our company, but have not had much joy finding out answers to the
numerous questions I have. If anyone can help me out with answers to
any of the following, I would be very grateful:
- How long does the application process take?
- What steps are involved - will we have to surrender our passports at
any point in the process?
- Would it be possible to initially travel to the US on a visa waiver if
the visa wasn't ready in time and then return to the UK at some point
to get the visa?
