All the people I personally know who acquired US Citizenship did so
because the system made it the sensible thing to do.
Pledging allegiance was just an incidental.
There was at least one person who I have seen on a board say they are
not going to acquire Citizenship because they do not want to pledge
allegiance, which strickes me as being a good enough reason not to.
It is an option, US Gov could quite easily put a time limit of GC's.
