I believe you need to work for this company in the UK for a year in order to
be eligible for L1 visa when they transfer you to the US. This would allow
your husband at the time to get L2 and thus be eligible to work in the US.
This would ensure much shorter permanent residency processing times
(L1=>PR)compared to H1=>PR. You need to understand that if you come to the
US on H1 your husband definitely won't be able to work here for well over a
year, more likely several years. I've been here for over 4 years on H1 and
started PR almost immediately and I don't think my wife will be allowed to
work anytime soon. It is that slow.
