Subject: change of maritial status after approval of I-130 Posted on: Fri, 30 Sep 2005 22:45:46 +0000

My parents are permanent residents of USA. I have received the
approval notice soon and I expect the next procedure to be forwarded
i.e. the State Department will give me an immigrant visa number. The
thing that bothers me is the fact that I have lived for a couple of
years with my girlfriend as a husband and a wife and the only reason
that we are not married is the upper mentioned petition. If we were
spouses the petition would be in other category i.e. a "Petition for
alien relative for a married son or daughter over 21" which
automatically extends the time for consideration of the petition and
that does not satisfy me. My wish is to begin my new life with my wife
as soon as possible. So my question is: What should be my actions in
order to arrive in USA with my wife and we do not want to be separated
if that is possible? Is it possible for her to receive her "green card"
with me or another document for a legal enter in USA? Is it possible
and if the answer is "Yes" - what is the way?
