I was in the same boat.
You must get I485 filed before the H1B expires so you can extend your
H1B.
I spent a lot of hours and you got to do the same to make yourself heard
at the Federal and Local level to get you labor approved - believe me
it's worth it.
Keep a track on where your Labor is, and predictions on when it will be
approved. Remember to allow for Notice Of Actions, you might have to
prove details, and that can slow down the Labor process.
As long as your attorney filed eveything, and you're O.K. with
employment you should be O.K. First thing I would do is get prediction
on how long labor will take, and be pro-active in getting everything
filed for I485 the next day. It could go right down to the wire. It's a
horrible experience, not knowing your fate - but we've all been there.
Just hang on in there.
