Yes, I have the receipt notice. Nothing since then. I called CIS
today and they told me that the way N-400 works is, the application
stays at the service center a short time. Then it is sent to the local
office for processing. If one assumes a month's stay at VSC, it means
that the Norfolk office has had my application since July end.

Anyway the chap at CIS told me that there is nothing he could tell me,
as the application is processed by the local office, not VSC. So I
guess I am SOL for the time being. Any suggestions are welcome.
