You can get a student loan as a non-resident with IEFC or Campusdoor.
But if the worst case scenario is that you have to "write letters' then
you really arent very good at coping with life are you? Everyone has
been through crap with immigration, its just par for the course! Suck
it up a bit.
A secondary interview at your POE will confirm the validity of your
greencard, so stop finding stuff to moan about.
My comment remains, there are people on the planet with real problems.
