You beat me too it. It's amazing how Canadians want to be their own
independent country with its own identity and culture. However, if
it comes to a US immigration regulation or benefit, they think they
have all of this special treatment. They want to be America-lite.
Some think they can live in the US without applying, or cross the
border without their green cards. They only get some visa free
travel, and NAFTA.
"I'm Canadian, we're our own nation....... can I get a special break and
move to the US permananently?...."
"I'm Canadian.. what do I need to be able to pour concrete in the US?
The US company really wants to hire me. I need a work permit??? But
I'm Canadian!"
