EB3 and Priority Dates for a Sri Lankan. Posted on: Mon, 19 Dec 2005 19:21:44 +0000 (UTC)

Hi,

I am trying to understand this and need your help. I know that the
current EB3 priority date to file I-485 for people born in countries
other than China, India, Philipines and Mexico is April 1, 2001. I also
read somewhere that each country has a fixed amount of visa numbers
allocated to it. So here is the question. Does that cut of date apply
for all the countries ( except C,I,P and M) or each individual country
will have it is own cut off date depending on the Visa numbers
available for that year for that country?

So if I (born in Sri Lanka) apply for my LC under PERM in EB3 and get
it approved, do I have a shorter wait if there are Visa numbers
available for Sri Lanka for that year, Or Do I have to wait like
everybody else till the my priority date become current as publushed in
the Visa Bulletin.

Your help will be greatly appreciated !!
