I know a permanent resident can enlist, but I'm not sure about a
conditional permanent resident. The haven't even decided if you can
stay in the country yet. Considering that the military is something
like 15% non-citizens they should be very familiar with your situation.
Have the recruiter ask for the answer through the chain of command.

As for getting an extension for a year, that's not going to be possible.
You won't get a full two years on it. You get a letter extending for
one additional year when you file the I-751, but the I-751 isn't filed
until 90 days before the conditional card expires.
