in my immigration office, NYC, they say that you have option of giving them
the object
that they cant let through but you won't get it back. Otherwise they won't
let you
into the building at all. As matter of fact one of the men in front of me
must have been
some kind of carpenter or something and he had some kind of tool with him.
One of the
guards took it from him and started making motions as if he was cutting his
own head off.
Must of been pretty insulting. They wouldnt let me with my screwdriver
either.
