Actually, I already went to see my local USCIS office last Tues. and did
the info-pass. But when they saw my receipt, they said they can't put a
stamp on my passport (is that the I-551?) because my greencard has
already been made and mailed March 16, 2006. They said it was a Homeland
Security Policy that once a card has been mailed they can't stamp your
passport. So i left the office last tues. without a stamp and until now
I still haven't received my card.
I got an update just now (via email) that on March 24 (today) the card
order was completed and that they have mailed my new card directly to
me. If it's been mailed today, I'm sure I won't get it before my
scheduled trip on Monday (Mar. 27). But if you think it's okay for me to
leave and I won't get questioned or detained at the airport/immigration
without a card in my possession, then I will push through with my trip.
I guess the problem here would be going back to the States without the
card....but then again, if my hubby mails my card to where I'm going
once it gets here, then I'm still okay, right?
Thanks so much....
