Hi. I've spent the better part of the last two weeks, reading all about
the INS and immigration and so on. I'm a US citizen, who's gone and
fallen in love with a Brit. He's a chemist by trade and a great guy. Am
I correct that the only option we have now, is to have him find a job
here and have that job "sponsor" him to bring him over, or am I
misunderstanding something? Is there really no work visa's that can
simply be attained?
We are not currently interested in getting married cause we have to in
order to be together. We'd simply like to live and work in the same
country.
I assume since he's a college gradute with a BSc in Chemisty and a
solid work history in the field of chemisty it will be easier for him
to move here than for me to go there. I think I'd fall under the
catagory of "unskilled" labor. I do not have a college degree, and
whereas I'm employed in the banking industry and have been for years, I
don't think that would get me anywhere.
Am I right? Our only viable option is for him to just try and find a
company that will hire someone from overseas?
