| Hi. I've spent the better part of the last two weeks, reading all about
| the INS and immigration and so on. I'm a US citizen, who's gone and
| fallen in love with a Brit. He's a chemist by trade and a great guy. Am
| I correct that the only option we have now, is to have him find a job
| here and have that job "sponsor" him to bring him over, or am I
| misunderstanding something? Is there really no work visa's that can
| simply be attained?
|
| We are not currently interested in getting married cause we have to in
| order to be together. We'd simply like to live and work in the same
| country.
|
| I assume since he's a college gradute with a BSc in Chemisty and a
| solid work history in the field of chemisty it will be easier for him
| to move here than for me to go there. I think I'd fall under the
| catagory of "unskilled" labor. I do not have a college degree, and
| whereas I'm employed in the banking industry and have been for years, I
| don't think that would get me anywhere.
|
| Am I right? Our only viable option is for him to just try and find a
| company that will hire someone from overseas?
|
Correct. Since you are not anticipating marriage yet, a Fiancee Visa (K-1)
is not an option.
He needs to find a qualified employer to sponsor him for a work visa.
