1. Actually, the job has to be temporary for TN
2. Take your degrees, certifiates ( transcripts are better in case
officers have doubts), and the letter from your prospective employer
stating the position, salaries, temporary nature of the job, and/or the
duration (one year or less) ... you will need to get a new TN every
year, so your employer will need to give you this letter every year.
My employers never had problem with this.
3. I got my first, and second TN at Pearson airport ... the officers
were very helpful, one officer had some doubts, but gave me the
benefits of the doubt after seeingmy transcripts. However, the lines
are long ... average waiting times were 2 hours ... I almost missed my
flight the second time.
4. No lawyer needed ... if you hire one, he/she will cost you around
10K, and remember, you will need to do it every year.
5. I applied for my third at Vancouver airport, and the officer told
me that I should call them, and fax them the documents several days
ahead, so I don't have to wait at the airport.
Also, make lots of copies of all docs, give the officers the original,
and the copies, and always remember to ask the original back,or you
will need to write your school asking for new transcripts, degrees
every year (I did that couple of times)
