I renewed TNs several times with the same employer. I never pretended
that it was a new job. The letter simply indicated that the employer
wished to hire me for another year. Otherwise, the letters were
virtually identical to the original. The Peace Bridge is usually the
recommended crossing (Buffalo/Fort Erie), since they have a lot of
experience issuing TNs. Best to go during normal business hours. TN
lore has it that the Nafta officer at Rainbow Bridge (Niagara Falls)
is very difficult, and that he fills in at Buffalo on Thursdays
sometimes. This info might be outdated, but it wouldn't hurt to avoid
Thurdays.
