Her mother was not at all in the US back then. My question does not
involve fraud and I don't see when they would be lying at POE (from my
original message: "she would have to tell her intent to become a
student at the POE").

In any case, the fact of you using the word "adjusting" rather than
"changing" [status] shows that you have less knowledge than me on
immigration ...
