Lucy,
My husband does have assets, income, etc.-in the Czech Rep.
The income he makes is laughable considering the difference in
currencies.
He would do well financially---if he was here.
In a meeting with someone at the embassy, he was told that
"theoretically" he could sponsor himself, but that they would never
grant him the visa because they WANT the petitioner to reside in the
US.
To get the assets valued, then put in my name, etc. etc., and then find
out that it's not enough because it's value in Czech Kc. is a joke when
converted to US dollars...just try to imagine the reality. We have been
living in the Czech Republic for the past 6 years....all of our assets
are there.
Was your input seriously meant to....help?
I would have appreciated it.
Obviously, I could not find anyone to just simply sign the affadavit.
I am pretty busy with my kids and do not get the chance to connect with
a whole lot of people. Plus, I have been abroad for a long time.
Anybody with enough income? How about you? Maybe you have enough
income....would you do it?
A better paying job? The US State Dept. wants the records of my past
three years earnings, so since I've been in the US for 1.5 yrs...I
guess that's out of the question.
Perhaps you're right, maybe there is nothing this forum can help me
with.
Curt remarks and discouragement certainly do not help.
It has been so frustrating....just make enough money (for the past 3
years) and you're in.
My husband is a smart man. He speaks fluent English, no criminal
history, graduated from Charles University.
His five children are in the US.
It is hard for me to believe that he cannot cross the border to be
with them.
Our savings sure would add up a lot quicker, and I wouldn't have to
worry about becoming a welfare case.
How ironic.
It's been a pretty rough last little while...
at least I got to vent a little.
