"Raza" in this context means " brotherhood" or "the people" and does not
refer to a scientifically defined race. In fact the term in Spanish also
meens "breed" as in cats, dogs and livestock.
The Aztlan movement _is_ the MEChA movement... a leftover form the militant
70's and on the wane. The members are Chicanos, not Mexicans. A Chicano is
an American. There are no immigrasnt Chicanos. There are no immigrant
MEChistas. The terms are exclusionary.

You are basing this statement on a "visual" translation of a word, which
does not mean what you think it does. "Raza" does not include all
Mexicans... it is a term for working class Mexicans, and is the equivalent
of the term "pueblo" in other places in Latin America. Or, in English, "the
people" or "the working man." Not "race" as in Asian or Black or white.

I did not know that "white" is a protected class. And I did not know it was

All of Latin America is of widely mixed race, ranging form white to Black to
Indian and even a bit of Asian. There is no dominat race... there is a
spectrum.
The Americas, unlike Europe or Asia or Africa, were populated by a mix of
Europeans (whose diseases leveld the relationship between European and
indigenous) and the native peoples, plus a lot of later-day immigrants (such
as the hundreds of thousands of Jews in Argentina) so that the entire
Western Hemisphere is a mix or a blend.
