Subject: Can I claim my foreign wife as my dependent? Posted on: Wed, 6 Sep 2006 17:07:32 +0000 (UTC)

I am a US citizen, living in China now. I'm happily married to a local
Chinese woman. Since my money here is pretty good that she doesn't need
to work. Although I'm an American, she is still a proud Chinese and has
no desire to become an American. My question is when I file the income
tax next year, can I still claim her as my dependent? since she doesn't
have a US social security number.
