as regards to interviews are not conducted until the background checks
are returned i have to say in my case this was not true, i was
interviewed back in june and all went well except the fact that my
background check had not been returned to the atlanta office. i waited a
few weeks and emailed the officer who interviewed me to check on my
case, (she had kindly given me her email address)
still no word back but she encourged me to email her in a few weeks
which i did
here is the reply i got
Good news--your background investigation cleared on Aug. 9. I have
recommended your file for approval. Ordinarily, you would be scheduled
for an oath ceremony after your file has been reverified (usually takes
4-6 weeks). However, if you would prefer to come back to Atlanta one day
this week or next (M-Th), we can try to get you into a ceremony on that
day. Please let me know which option you prefer.
i will become a usa citizen on fri 15th september as i could not make
it that week
ps i had no criminal record it was possibly just held up on a
desk somewhere
