Hi:
Its hard to tell. You don't give your father's immigration status.
Also, are you married or not?
The FB-1, FB-2 and FB-3 categories are all backlogged. Do note that
pending petition can convert classification based upon change in dad's
status [e.g. naturalization] or beneficiary's marriage/divorce. [There
is another two strings going about danger of beneficiary's marriage
BEFORE father's naturalization -- that cuts off conversion]. The point
is that the 2004 priority date is preserved.
Without going into details, the was a HUGE bulge in filings in filings
in the first 4 months of 2001 due to "245(i)." So when you see priority
date cut-offs getting into the first 4 months of 2001, especially April
2001, expect a slow-down in progress. Once the date is past April 30,
2001, it should speed up quite a bit. [Note: on the employment end of
the shop, there were a lot of 2001 filings which are NOW coming out of
labor certificate purgatory -- hence there have been backlogs
developing].
Patience -- it will come -- but don't know.
It
