My question is:
- Assume you are not misleading the US govt on the application for
reentry permit.
- You explain the reason why you have to go away for extended period
- The reason stays the same
- You file US taxes on time because you consider yourself a resident
- You are otherwise admissable to the US (no crimes, diseases etc).
If they approve reentry I think it is fair to say that at minimum your
reason looks fairly solid. If the reason does not change and you want
to move back in say after 2 years - they cannot say all of a sudden
that you left the US for good? If it were the case that inspite of
satisfying conditions above - they still take away GCs - wouldn't that
erode the value of GC in first place? Why would LPR pay extra taxes to
US govt while away and then have his GC revoked?
Sthg does not make sense. Why are people so emotional?
