what to expect at Port of Entry? Posted on: Tue, 6 Feb 2007 08:16:53 +0000 (UTC)

my boyfriend will be coming to visit me soon...he was granted a B1
visa. :)

but, from what i understand, the visa doesn't ensure that he'll be
granted entry. he could still supposedly be denied - although don't
understand how or why?

should i be concerned? is the mere fact that he's coming to visit me,
his girlfriend, a potential problem? are people with valid visas
regularly denied and if so, on what grounds?

i just want him to be able to come a visit me and my family while i am
in the states. i am planning on returning to his country within this
year... and ...jeez! i thought this was all taken care of already
with the visa - i didn't know there were more questions to come. i
can't imagine the agony of him arriving here only to be turned away.

what can he expect at the port of entry? how can he be best prepared?
