Well, like one poster mentioned I did not mention all the details so
my post came out sounding quite different than the real situation and
it sounded like I was the one who wanted to delay this and for bad
reasons. That is not the case and we did not mean it like that.
Firstly, my spouse is aware of the letter. When I submitted my
question I had just received the letter. He also does not want them to
come here right now.

The reason that we both would prefer the visa delayed is due to
medical reasons that one of the family members is going through. It
would be much less costly for them to receive medical care there and
not in the US due high costs here and as sponsors it would be our
liability. In a few months when these medical issues are over it will
not be a problem. So that is why I was asking about a delay or
temporary hold on the visa. I did not use the appropriate wording or
supply enough information in my first post. My mistake.
