I am posting this on behalf of a friend who received her Green Card
a few months ago. Atfter much rambling around with the USCIS, her
(less-than-21) daughter's case was finally approved and a I-171 was
sent to the National Visa Center for her immigration visa (she
resides outside the US).
The problem is that the USCIS notification we received regarding the
daughter's I-171 does not include any case number or A number. And the
National Visa Center has no trace of her USCIS file.
NVC is telling us that we have to wait 90 days before we hear back.
It's already been 60 days, but we are worried that another snafu has
occured (we had several to deal with when her case was being processed
by USCIS).
Can any one offer some suggestion? Is that situation "normal"? If it is
not, what recourse do we have to try and ensure the USCIS file is re-
sent to NVC?
Suggestions and personnal experience accounts are very welcome.
