Forget the summer 2008 thingy -- you get here when you get here! I'd
budget 2 or 3 years till you are successful and/or give up.

First step: get your certification. Instructions here,

Second step: find school(s) to sponsor you. Would suggest you read up
FULLY on the process so you can explain to them what they'll need to do
to get you here.
