I don't believe USCIS asks anything of the FBI. If I were you, I'd go
in person via an Infopass appointment, they will probably tell you it's
still pending, and then I'd get a political rep involved. The 800
misinformation line won't be able to tell you anything. In fact, even
when the FBI checks are completed, it takes forever and a day for USCIS
to match up the results with your file. And it's not just FBI checks,
there are other agencies involved as well.
