My background check is outstanding and has been for some time. My case
is way outside the normal processing time. When I phoned the USCIS
last December I got a letter back telling me to wait about 6 months,
and then contact them again if I have heard nothing. I guess after a
while they ask the FBI to give priority to cases that are way overdue.
I will call again later this week or early next. I hope your son gets
his case done soon!!
