The fingerprint check is the same no matter what petition it is taken
for, i.e. AOS, removal of conditions, naturalization. And each of those
petitions also get the thorough background check, each and every time.

Also fingerprint checks come back quickly and they are run by the FBI.
There is also a background name check and it is these checks that take
the longest and can run into the years to complete.

So the operator might well have been correct, your fingerprint results
are in from the FBI but they might still be waiting on the CIA, IBIS,
etc. name check.

OR ... the background checks for all are in and your file has not been
checked so that you can be notified of such.
