Subject: Oath Ceremonies Posted on: Wed, 11 Apr 2007 20:39:37 +0000

I am in the early part of application for citizenship having just been
fingerprinted. (Apparently my fingerprint matches were not that good!!
Given that my previous prints were taken at a small police station in
Macomb Illinois by inkpad - not the new technology - I am not that
surprised. However, given lengthy experience with the INS/CIS, I
confidently await a recall for another 5 1/2 hour journey to have them
redone, almost certainly with exactly the same result!)

That lengthy aside aside..I am interested in knowing where else, if
anywhere, other than Chicago, Oath Ceremonies take place. I havent
been able to find that information on the net, which leads me to the
conclusion that there aint nowhere else! I still cling, probably
vainly, to the hope that this conclusion is wrong since I am fed up with
travelling to Chicago. Its understandable that the interview session
will be held at the CIS offices in Chicago.......inconvenient
maybe.....but perfectly understandable. But I was always under the
vague impression that Oath Ceremonies themselves were sometimes held
under the jurisdiction of City officials. Anyone any info?
