Hi Hank,
You can apply for AP right now and possibly get it in hand by June. If
your background checks are not complete by May 21, you will NOT get
approved at the interview and can use the AP to travel to the wedding.
If your background checks are complete and you are approved at your AOS
interview, they can give you a stamp in your passport to use for travel
until your GC comes in the mail.
Worst case scenario, you apply for AP but don't get it by the date you
need to leave in June, and you are not approved for AOS by that date
either. But applying for AP today might be worth a shot...it should
only take a couple of months to get the AP in hand.
