I'm not sure I understand your question. You do not need a US SSN to
enter Canada, but a Canadian work permit by itself is not a valid travel
document, so you'll still need a passport or some other form of
acceptable ID to enter Canada. Also, if you are in the US on a valid H1
visa you are *not* allowed to accept employment from anyone other than
your US sponsor.
