You can apply without a lawyer... the worst that will happen is that the
application will be denied and you'll be out the filing fee. The good
news is that you can always reapply with the help of a lawyer if it
doesn't work out the first time. Use this form: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/N-
600.pdf. Be sure you have the correct filing fee (currently $255.00)...
but be aware that on July 30, 2007 the filing fee will climb to $460.00.
