That doesn't make sense to me. What's your wife's status? Is she a
USC? Is she still a US PR? Did you file the I-130 directly to the
London embassy? What do you mean by "her father is her sponsor"? This
makes it sound like your wife is still awaiting some kind of status of
her own in the USA, yet she's living in the UK...
If your wife is a US PR, and she filed an I-130 for you, then the
waiting time is around 5 - 6 years or so for a visa number to be
available to you. In the meantime, when your wife becomes a USC, she
can upgrade your petition to spouse of a USC, and a visa number will
become immediately available to you.
If your wife is a US PR, why is she living in the UK? She must live in
the USA in order to maintain her PR status. Especially if she wants to
become a USC.
Of course, if your wife is a USC, that's different...then a visa number
is immediately available to you as the spouse of a USC. But since
you've already been waiting so long, this doesn't sound like the case.
