There is no process to adjust from PR status to a status that is more
restrictive. However, they can simply leave the US, abandon their
present status, and apply for a visitor's visa if they want to visit the
US. A short letter to USCIS to explain that they are abandoning their
status and leaving the US would be a good idea *if* they are absolutely
sure this is what they want to do. Once done... it's done!
