Subject: Advance Parole document? Posted on: Wed, 3 Oct 2007 07:29:46 +0000 (UTC)

Hi, I am a newbie in this group. Please do not laugh if my questions
are too simple :-)

I received my approved advance parole yesterday in the mail. This is
my first time applying for advance parole and I have no lawyer
helping
me. I was expecting to receive a card, something like the employment
authorisation card (credit-card sized). But all that I have are two
pieces of paper (letter-sized) with my picture on it. Is this letter
(Form 512 L?) the actual advance parole itself? or is there something
else? I tried calling the USCIS hotline and believe me, the person
who
was supposed to help me is not too sure too! So, what do i do? Can i
go ahead to travel out of the USA now, and when I return after my
trip
overseas, I just show this piece of document to the immigration
officer at the airport of entry? Also, i am wondering why do i have
two pieces of documents that are exactly identical? Do i need to
bring
both with me or will one document be sufficient? When I leave the
USA,
do i need to show it to an immigration(?) officer, or only when i
return to the USA? What do i do when i return? Do i queue up at the
foreign-visitor line or the permanent-resident line? At what stage do
i show an immigration officer my advance parole document? It is
stated
that this AP document is for multiple entry, i assume the immigration
officer will return the piece of paper to me after he has a look at
it, right? Will he stamp something on the AP document itself or will
he just take a look at it only? Thank you for your kind answers in
advance :-)

P. S. If I sound like a nut asking such simple questions, i am afraid
it is because this whole exercise and experience of endless waiting
for my AOS is making me into one... ha ha
