Speaking from Maryland, where I recently ran for Delegate, District 19, I
can tell you that about 2 year ago, we had the head of the State Board of
Elections state under oath that not only did the Board have no idea how many
non-citizens were voting, they had _no way to know_ and couldn't think of
how to go about finding out.

I forget her name, exactly, but she came within an inch of being out of a
job within the week. And she absolutely refuses to discuss anything even
remotely impinging on the subject.

Shortly before 9/11/2001, I was in a local store buying some beer. The lady
behind the counter asked me what is this jury duty and how do I get out of
it. Evidently when she got her driver's permit, she was automatically
registered to vote and added to the juror pool.

I wonder how many legal cases are technically invalidated by that sort of thing.
