Hello Sofia,

My first question to you is, have you removed the conditional status
of your green card? You say you have been married almost two years.
The conditional is for anybody that gets married and the duration of
the marriage is less than 2 years. If you get divorced prior to the
"permanent" green card, you will be denied. If your permanent green
card is denied, then at the expiration of your conditional status you
must depart the US. Your option is, as long as you have departed the
U.S while you are legal, then you may get married to another US
citizen. of course, as long the divorce is legal in the US and the
divorce decree is after the conditional status has been removed.. He
may also petition you for K1 visa. You don't give enough facts. If
March 2006 is the wedding date then you must stay married until March
2008. You must petition to remove the condition with in 90 days of the
expiration date of the conditional green card.

I suggest you check with an immigration attorney in your area before
finalizing anything.
